What’s the best way to swing dance?

JimmieHendrix05 asked:

I’m new to the whole scene, and i’ve got a lot of friends who dig it. I picked it up alright, but want to practice and improve. I work a lot and am unable to schedule private lessons because of it. I’m looking for reference recommendations via personal testimony…

Girls, if you liked a guy, would you be upset if he went to a swing dance class that you went to?

nylentone asked:

I know this girl likes me. I asked her about the dance class she was going to because she obviously learned alot more than I did in the one I went to. She seemed ok with me going. So then when I did go, after the lesson (I was in the beginners class, she was in the advanced class) they put on music and you dance. I asked her to dance and she turned me down, and then she danced with other guys… when she wasn’t staring at me across the room. And then the next class, she came in when I was learning a move which involved me putting my arm around my partner (a different girl whose name I don’t even know) and my hand on her hip, and she had a bare midriff. I didn’t choose to dance with her, we just take turns and that’s who I was with. So the girl who likes me looks like her eyes are going to fall out and leaves. Then when I saw her later she looks all upset and yells at me that she doesn’t like me and I creep her out and don’t talk to her anymore. I didn’t for awhile but (continued)…
eventually she started talking to me again. And I really get the impression that she likes me. I didn’t see her at the dance class again until a long time later. And then when she saw me there, she looked really unhappy to see me. So I left. And then she was really upset at me, but I don’t know if it was because I showed up in the first place or that I left. But now she acts like she likes me still. So does she just not like me going to her dance class? Why would she like me but not want me to be there?

What is an inexpensive way to advertise and gain more clients as a private dance instructor?

c2t asked:

I teach various forms of dance such as Salsa, Cha Cha, Tango, West Coast Swing, Merengue, Bachata, Jazz Dance & Ballet. I prefer not to teach a large class but individual lessons or a small private group. I am listed on Craigslist and on some dance sites as an instructor. And, I would prefer not to pass out flyers or post flyers at community boards. I would like to find out inexpensive ways to advertise or get my name out to interested students.

Is Swing making a comeback?

radioguyscott asked:

Im curious if you think that Swing is making a comeback. They style (fashion, dance and music) not the sex term.

Im taking swing dancing lessons and its pretty fun but i have always been into that style. but you really cant find modern clothing with a swing flair to it. Unless you want to pay a butt load for shoes and thats really about it. What are your thoughts?

Is she saying no?

FireStorm005 asked:

I asked a question a few weeks ago about asking out my coworker, see here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgV4i2m8JathrHRMswlEvFwjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20080402015955AA1gwBu. I did ask her to go dancing (swing lessons), but she had something else already planned at that time but said she’d love to at another time. I looked at the schedule for the lessons and let her know about the next one, but she said she may be busy again. I can’t tell if it really is a timing issue or if she just doesn’t want to go out.
I did not ask her specifically “will you go out with me”. I asked her to the dance lessons, which, about 30 seconds before I asked her to I asked if she liked dancing and she said she liked swing dancing.
Also, the lessons are 30 minutes, followed by a 2 hour 30 minute dance. Not really formal.

What is the best type of dance lesson for learning social dance.private or group?

Eight is Enough asked:

My girlfriend and I recently started private lessons and found them to be very expensive. We are hoping to learn several types of dance, including waltz, salsa, tango, rumba, swing, etc. We are trying to decide if the higher cost of private lessons is worth it, or could we get the same results from the less expensive group lessons?
